Flag of HDZ

The flag of HDZ is prescribed in the party's statutes (website) as light blue with the party's emblem in the middle and the party's logo placed below. As a rule the flag is adorned with a silver or golden fringe on three sides. Akthough there is no indication about weather this is a horizontal or vertical flag, only the vertical version is used. Even when it is attached to the flag staff in a way one would expect to have rotated design.
The emblem consist of a letter "H" composed of red and blue squares and of a white triple wattle. The logo is made of the blue letters "HDZ" with a red tilted square in the upper left corner.

The flag as used while President Tudjman was alive was silver; it was usually made of shiny metalic textile - and gray when printed. When the change to light blue was made is not sure, probably before 1999 (the party's statutes prescribing a light blue field was adopted in 2000.

Young Croatian Democratic Union (Mladež Hrvatske demokratske zajednice, MHDZ) is the youth organization of HDZ. MHDZ uses a flag composed of gray (silver) and white squares artistically designed so as if made by diagonal filling. In the middle of the flag the gray parts are changed into red and blue, thogether with the word "mladež" (youth) forming the emblem of the organization.
